Kaune Contemporary wurde im Herbst 2007 in Köln gegründet.

Unser Fokus liegt auf Foto- und Videokunst und ihrer Beziehung zur Realität. Die Galerie präsentiert internationale Fine-Art-Fotografie, die zeitgenössische und dokumentarische Ansätze miteinander verbindet.

Kaune Contemporary vertritt international etablierte Künstler wie Hans Georg Esch, Mark Arbeit, Todd Hido, George Holz, Bruno Bisang, Jo Fober, Marina Gadonneix, Peter Granser, Cosima Hawemann, Stefan Heyne, Max Benz und Immo Klink.

Diese künstlerischen Positionen spiegeln unsere kuratorische Haltung wider: das Vertrauen in stringente fotografische Ideen. Unser Programm folgt der Neugier auf die Welt, wie sie ist – nicht wie sie sein könnte.

Kaune Contemporary was founded in fall 2007 in Cologne, Germany.

Our focus is Photo and Video Art and their relation to reality. Kaune Contemporary centers on international fine art photography that draws on both contemporary and documentary traditions.

These artistic positions reflect our curatorial attitude: confidence in stringent photographic ideas. Our program is driven by curiosity about the world as it is – not as it could be.

The high aesthetic standard of the works creates moments of stillness within the media overload of our time – allowing photography to reveal what it does best: slow perception down to something real.
